What Spanish online pharmacies may sell
Spanish rules allow authorised online pharmacy sales of non-prescription human medicines, subject to requirements. Prescription medicines such as authorised GLP-1 weight-loss treatments are not sold online to the public through that channel. A consultation may happen online, but dispensing of a prescription medicine is a separate pharmacy process. AEMPS and European regulators warn about illegal GLP-1 products advertised through websites and social media.
Read the AEMPS and EMA warning ↗ A low price, a professional-looking box or a “research use only” label does not establish identity, quality, safe storage or lawful supply.
Why a foreign website is not a shortcut
A medicine can have different authorisations and supply rules in different countries. A product advertised abroad does not automatically become legal to order into Spain. Exceptional foreign-medicine access and investigational access have controlled medical routes; they are not the same as a consumer ordering a vial from overseas. Travelling with your own prescribed medicine is another distinct situation and has its own conditions.
Questions before trusting a claim
- Is this exact product authorised by EMA/AEMPS for the claimed use?
- Is there a named prescriber and an authorised dispensing pharmacy?
- Can you verify the source, batch, storage and patient leaflet?
- Is the evidence a completed controlled trial or only a social-media testimonial?
Do not use unknown injections or tablets bought from unverified sources. If you have already taken one and feel unwell, seek medical advice promptly. For legitimate current options, see oral Wegovy or weight-management consultations.
What the future could change
New compounds may eventually be authorised, but that depends on completed studies, regulatory review and local supply. Until then, we can explain the evidence as it appears without offering investigational products for sale. See the research pipeline guide for named examples and their limits.
Online consultation is not online medicine sales
A patient may book and complete a remote medical consultation. If a prescription is appropriate, the prescription and pharmacy step still follow the rules for that medicine. This distinction matters because illegal sellers often copy the language of telemedicine to make a direct online sale seem legitimate. Verify the healthcare provider and the dispensing pharmacy separately.
If someone says an experimental peptide is “legal because it is for research,” ask who the authorised investigator is, which trial protocol applies and whether you are enrolled. A consumer checkout page is not a clinical trial. Exceptional access in Spain is managed for defined clinical circumstances through official channels, not by choosing a dose on an overseas shop.
