How repeat prescriptions work in Spain
For long-term medication refills or travellers who forgot their regular medication. Not for new symptoms or antibiotics.
Step 1 — Book a repeat prescription appointment
Book a day and time. In “Comments”, list up to 4 medication(s) with dose (e.g. diazepam 5 mg).
Please check your name, date of birth, email and phone number. No call or video link — the doctor reviews your request at the appointment time.
Step 2 — Send evidence (new patients / tourists)
If we have not prescribed this for you before, send proof (e.g. NHS App screenshot or box label) showing your name, medication, and dose.
Evidence is required for controlled medicines (sleeping tablets, anxiety medication, ADHD medication). We cannot prescribe morphine or fentanyl online.
Step 3 — Doctor review (same day)
A doctor reviews your request at the appointment time. Prescriptions are issued the same day, usually within 2 hours.
If we need clarification (e.g. Spanish brand name / equivalent), we’ll contact you by email or WhatsApp.
Step 4 — Collect your medication from any pharmacy in Spain
You’ll receive a PDF prescription by email with a QR code. Take it to any pharmacy with a photo ID.
Prescriptions are valid for 10 days. Check your spam/junk folder if you don’t see the email.
