Is the service available across all of Spain?
Yes. Our online doctor consultations are available across mainland Spain and the Spanish islands, including Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Mallorca and Ibiza.
Do you treat tourists?
Yes. We specialise in helping tourists and international patients in Spain. Our doctors are English-speaking and experienced in travel-related medical care.
Can I get antibiotics online in Spain?
Yes. After a telephone or video consultation, if clinically appropriate, our Spanish-registered doctors can issue antibiotics for conditions such as chest infections, sinusitis, urinary infections or skin infections. Your prescription is sent by email with a QR code and can be used at any pharmacy in Spain.
Do I need a prescription for antibiotics in Spain?
Yes. Antibiotics require a Spanish medical prescription issued by a licensed doctor. UK NHS prescriptions or prescriptions from other countries are not valid in Spanish pharmacies.
Are online prescriptions valid in Tenerife, Mallorca and Ibiza?
Yes. Prescriptions issued by our doctors are valid throughout mainland Spain and all islands, including the Canary Islands and Balearic Islands.
How do I receive my prescription?
If clinically appropriate, your prescription is sent to your email the same day, usually within an hour. It includes a QR code that is scanned at the pharmacy.
Are your doctors registered in Spain?
Yes. All of our doctors and nurses are registered with their respective Spanish professional bodies. You can verify their registration numbers on our Meet the Team page.
Can I use the prescription in any pharmacy in Spain?
Yes. Our prescriptions are valid in all Spanish pharmacies across mainland Spain and the islands.
How long is a Spanish prescription valid?
Prescriptions are valid for 10 days from the issue date. After that period, the pharmacy system will mark them as expired.
Are online consultations legal in Spain?
Yes. Telemedicine is legal in Spain when provided by properly licensed doctors registered with the Medical Council.
Can UK tourists get a prescription in Spain?
Yes. UK tourists and other international visitors can receive a Spanish prescription after medical assessment through our service.
Do I need Spanish health insurance?
No. This is a private pay-as-you-go service. You will receive an invoice which may be used to claim from travel insurance.
What happens if antibiotics are not needed?
If antibiotics are not clinically appropriate, your doctor will provide medical advice and alternative treatment options tailored to your condition.
